Over-the-shoulder boulder holders, titty tamers, the rack pack, whatever you want to call them, bras are an essential part of our wardrobe. However, if you find yourself battling with your bra on a daily basis, it could be because you are wearing the wrong bra size!

After years of frustration from over-the-top spillage and busting underwires, I decided to find out what my proper bra fit was! And boy, was that an eye-opener!

No wonder I was so uncomfortable all of the time; I was wearing the wrong bra size, probably from the time I started filling out my sweater.

So, if you are constantly frustrated every time you order a new bra, then it’s time to find out your correct bra size to get the “support” you deserve!

Why a proper bra fit matters

Wearing the correct bra size not only makes your gals look better, but it’s actually better for your physical health!

Wearing the wrong bra size can cause issues such as neck and back pain, breast pain, and skin issues such as stretch marks from lack of support!

You will also notice a proper bra fit will prevent “spillage” and also stop your straps from digging into your shoulders.

How to measure your bra size

Now that you know how important wearing the correct bra size is, you can start trying to find a proper bra fit!

So, grab the measuring tape, and let’s get to it!

  1. How to measure your band size: Take a snug measurement around your rib cage, directly under your breasts.

Round up to the nearest inch. For instance, if you measure 37.5”, then you would round up to 38”.

  2. How to measure your bust: Take a loose measurement over the biggest part of your bust. Be sure to keep the tape level around your body when doing this.

Similar to measuring the band size, you will round up to the next inch. So, if you are 42.5”, you will round up to 43” to find the proper bra fit!

After you get your measurements, use a bra size calculator to find the perfect fit! Here are a few to pick from:
