For those comedy lovers out there, I’m sure you remember the movie Office Space where everyone was saying, “Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays!” I find this hilarious because after working too many jobs I hated and starting the week running with no time for myself, I could relate. However, with a change in mindset and some preparation, you can have a MARVELOUS MONDAY and start your week off on the right foot!
7 Quick Tips For A Marvelous Monday
If you’re always dreading Mondays and feel like you’re stuck in a rut, these easy tips will help you switch up the mundane Monday routine for a marvelous one!
Get up earlier for some me-time
I use to wake up just in time to get ready and run out the door. So my day started with work. This is simply an awful way to start your week, especially if you’re not doing something you love!
Hit the sack an hour earlier on Sunday night to make sure you get plenty of rest and set your alarm for an hour before you need to actually start getting ready for work.
This hour should be dedicated to doing something that makes you happy! For instance, having coffee outside while doing your positive affirmations, taking a morning stroll for some fresh air, or simply enjoying the quiet before the day starts!
Give it a try, and you will for sure have a marvelous Monday!
2. Have a yummy breakfast
Studies show that eating prompts the release of endorphins, also known as the “feel-good” hormones in our brains! I don’t know about you, but I feel happier when I get to taste something good in the mornings.
Of course, you can still be healthy and have delicious breakfasts you love. But remember, it’s okay to treat yourself now and then; it’s all about moderation.
I LOVE TOAST! Yes, it sounds super simple, but buttered toast and a cup of coffee just hits the spot for me.
So if you’re down, give yourself permission to have a little reward to start the week!
3. Plan your week
A big thing you can do to have a marvelous Monday is to plan your week. Sometimes we feel blue because we feel our life is chaotic or out of control. By creating a schedule or plan for your week, you will feel like you are getting your life together!
This, in turn, will help you feel much better. The easiest way to do this is with the time-blocking method. This is when you block out sections of time to accomplish tasks.
For instance, you would block off an hour every day on your schedule for your me-time in the morning. Or if you have specific tasks you are trying to accomplish, such as decluttering your bedroom, you would block off a section of time for that too.
You would also fill in your work schedule, any errands you need to run, etc. Time-blocking is an efficient way to plan your week that’s easy to do.
Plus, you can either use your beautiful planner with some colored highlighters or create a calendar on google and color code it!
4. Start a new hobby
Life is short, and that’s why it’s so important you do things you enjoy! So, why not start your week by taking up a new hobby?
It would help you have a marvelous Monday, and it would be a great way to unwind after work!
You could have a glass of wine and paint, do a bit of crafting, or get outside and plant a beautiful garden!
If you’re not sure what hobby you want to try, you can get tons of ideas and inspiration on Pinterest.
5. Set your weekly goals
It’s great to have big goals, but if you want to make them easier to achieve, then you should break them down into smaller weekly goals. For instance, let’s say you want to declutter your house.
Unless you are already tidy, that’s quite a big task to take on. So, you would break down your decluttering goals into weekly goals by rooms or categories.
For example, you would declutter your bedroom the first week, then your kitchen, living room, etc. This creates a schedule and helps to reach your ultimate goal easier.
Setting weekly goals can be applied to any goals you have. Simply break down your big goal into smaller goals and watch the magic happen! Get started this Monday with our free printable below!

7. Write in a positivity journal

The smallest things are some of the best things we should be grateful for. So, make it a goal to start a positivity journal!
You will have a marvelous Monday simply by reflecting on all the things you are happy to have.
For instance, your fur-babies, spouse, family, or simply the sound of a bird singing in the morning!
